The primary purpose of this position is to serves as Logistics Management Specialist, program manager, and subject matter expert responsible for assuring the work is carried out by performing a range of planning, coordinating, facilitating, and related supportive duties and responsibilities by researching, developing, and recommending new and innovative corporate policies, practices, and processes for the management of LZX programs. The position performs work assignments and/or studies encompassing AFSC strategic planning program management for Exercises, Wargames, and expansion of sustainment capabilities and capacities. Provides managers with advisory services and support for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of agency operations and management by accomplishing a wide variety of assignments concerned with effectiveness and efficiency of programs and operations for the Strategic Planning organization (LZX) mission and functional responsibility. Job Duties: Serves as a logistics project lead/manager, conducting organizational and process related studies and analysis of organizations, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, resource allocation and efficiency. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Supports special logistics-related operation projects/initiatives, to include Exercise Planning, Wargaming, and expansion of sustainment capabilities and capacities. Requirements: 1. Must be a current or former Department of Defense employee with at least 52 weeks at the next lower broadbroad NH-02, GS-11, or equivalent grade level with prior experience in exercise planning and/or wargaming. 2. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for the position. 3. May be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours. KSA's: 1. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing. 2. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance. 3. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas. 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations. 5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution. 6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
