Job Description
We are seeking a Packaging Engineer II to develop and implement packaging solutions that enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and support new product introductions. The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to establish and maintain packaging specifications, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain packaging and processing specifications at the part number level for new product introductions, cost-saving initiatives, and supply chain improvements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and facilities to optimize packaging for receiving, warehousing, and line-side delivery efficiency.
- Design packaging concepts and container layouts using 3D modeling software (Pro-E, Creo, or SolidWorks).
- Conduct cost analyses and develop business cases to justify packaging improvements.
- Oversee procurement and validation of new packaging and containers during pilot phases.
- Audit supplier compliance with packaging specifications and recommend improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2-4 years of experience as a Packaging Engineer or Packaging Analyst.
- Experience working with Manufacturing Enterprise Packaging Systems.
- Strong background in cost analysis and business case development.
- Proven ability to collaborate with suppliers to implement packaging and logistics enhancements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma project management principles.
- Experience in a manufacturing operations environment.
- Proficiency in Pack Assistant and Teamcenter.
- Prior experience in automotive or a similar industry is a plus.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
