The Activation Specialist is responsible for the execution of in person and virtual activations led or supported by the Gaming and Sports and Fitness teams. This role will support activations for the Gaming and Sports and Fitness division.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)

  • Oversee the management of all event logistics including budgeting, planning, and execution from event conceptualization to load-out and reporting.
  • Coordinate between internal and external stakeholders to ensure all tasks are managed appropriately and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Ensure proper execution of corporate partnerships and provide stewardship report upon completion of all events to the Manager, Programs.
  • Analyze and report on in-person and virtual performance data upon completion of events to ensure continuous improvement, optimization and innovation programs and services. Conduct post-event reviews of activations, issue related reports and make improvement recommendations.
  • Manage an annual calendar of programs and milestones delivering priority dates to cross-functional and regional teams.
  • Research and develop strategies to generate new value adding activations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in event and/or activation management.
  • 2 - 3 years of work experience within or adjacent to the gaming industry is preferred.
  • Relevant experience planning and executing in person and virtual events.
  • Relevant experience supporting in-person and virtual program and services delivery to a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, , general public and military audience at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, with the ability to adapt quickly and easily to changing organizational needs.
  • Proficiency with equipment, software and programs utilized to support events. This includes Sports & Fitness as well as Gaming equipment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO locations and facilities including, but not limited to, security, credit and or background screening, a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be a strong advocate of the USO’s mission.
