Essential Functions: this position Exempt and is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned).
- Database Administration - Ensure efficient database administration by designing, maintaining, and optimizing databases, managing data integrity, and supporting the data needs of various college departments and applications.
- Data Integration and Interfaces Facilitate data integration and interfaces by designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and connections between systems to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability across the college s platforms.
- Data Management and Integrity - Ensure data management and integrity by developing processes for data storage, retrieval, and validation, while implementing controls to maintain accuracy, consistency, and security across the college s data systems.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement Promote collaboration and continuous improvement by working with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, streamline processes, and implement enhancements to optimize data engineering practices and system performance.
- Reporting and Analysis Enhance reporting and analysis by designing and maintaining data reporting systems, generating insights, and providing accurate, actionable data to support decision-making across college departments.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices for data quality.
- Familiarity with data integration tools and techniques, as well as experience with data interfaces and APIs.
- Knowledge of Data visualization tools. (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards related to educational data (e.g., FERPA).
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and data integration methodologies.
- Knowledge of building out a database schema that can support reporting
- Awareness of current trends and emerging technologies in data analytics.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and their application in data initiatives.
- Proficiency writing T-SQL queries.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and C#
- Proficient in SQL for database management and data manipulation.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets and generating insights.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Prior experience calling Web APIs with familiarity of JSON
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues efficiently and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams across divsions/departments.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and build strong relationships across various departments.
- Ability to train and support staff in data-related tools and practices.
- Aptitude for continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and processes.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity in all tasks.

- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in data management, database administration, or a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on data accuracy and integrity. Experience in data analysis and reporting tools is preferred.
- Must have experience utilizing TSQL and administering Microsoft SQL servers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience within higher education or similar organizations.
- Familiarity with compliance standards related to education data, such as FERPA, and best practices for data governance.
