Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install HVAC systems: Set up and install heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems according to specifications, blueprints, and safety regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of HVAC systems to ensure efficiency and functionality.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems: Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Test system performance: Use testing devices, such as pressure gauges, voltmeters, and thermometers, to check system performance and ensure proper operation.
• Inspect and verify compliance: Ensure that HVAC systems comply with local building codes, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards.
• Handle refrigerants: Safely handle, recover, and dispose of refrigerants according to EPA regulations and company policies.
• Install electrical wiring: Connect electrical wiring to control systems and power sources for heating and cooling equipment.
• Advise clients: Provide guidance to clients regarding system upgrades, energy efficiency, and regular maintenance schedules.
• Complete work orders: Accurately document services performed, parts used, and systems repaired in work orders and reports.
• Stay updated on industry developments: Keep up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies, tools, and best practices.
  
  

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC training program at a technical or trade school is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an HVAC technician in residential or commercial environments.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Must hold a valid HVAC technician certification (EPA Section 608 Certification).
• Additional certifications, such as NATE (North American Technician Excellence), are a plus.
• Technical skills:
• Proficient in the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, thermostats, and ductwork.
• Familiar with HVAC safety standards, building codes, and industry regulations.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and wiring related to HVAC systems.
• Physical abilities: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues quickly and efficiently.
• Communication skills: Good verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, providing service recommendations, and explaining technical details.
• Driver’s license: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for traveling to job sites.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications: Additional certifications such as HVAC Excellence, R-410A Refrigerant, or Green HVAC systems are highly desirable.
• Specialized experience: Experience working with advanced systems such as geothermal heat pumps, energy-efficient systems, or commercial-grade HVAC systems.
  
  

Work Environment

• Work hours: Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime, weekend, or emergency calls based on client needs.
• Physical demands: Frequent lifting, bending, standing, and working in confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Safety gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing may be required.
