Flourish Counseling & Wellness, a specialty group psychotherapy practice in Chicago & Oak Park, is seeking to hire a qualified Prescriber to join our team. The Prescriber is responsible for assessing, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications for clients in addition to collaborating with our team of clinicians to ensure most optimal clinical care of clients.

The mission of the practice is to provide counseling, medication management, advocacy and resources focused on perinatal mental health from fertility to pregnancy, through postpartum and parenthood. Qualifications
  • Masters of Science (MS) in Nursing or similar discipline
  • Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nursing Certificate or similarly comparable certification
  • Experience working within the field of reproductive mental health
  • Experience assessing, diagnosing and managing the mental health of clients via medication management
  • Competency and confidence prescribing psychotropic medication during pregnancy, postpartum and chestfeeding
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to think globally, and relate well with persons from a variety of professional backgrounds, socioeconomic and cultural groups
  • Self-sufficient and ability to work independently, manage caseload of new and recurring appointments
  • Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, group practice organization
  • Collaboration with team members, clinicians and external providers to ensure comprehensive client care
Essential Functions
  • Evaluate and manage the needs of clients seeking medication management, arranging further medical attention when necessary
  • Collaborate with clients to answer questions and provide the full scope of risks, benefits of medication
  • Attend monthly consultation to collaborate with clinical team
  • Interest in offering workshops and/or presentations pertaining to medication management during pregnancy/postpartum/perimenopausal period, women’s reproductive mental health
  • Provide clear, concise and timely documentation in EHR for services rendered by prescriber
  • Manage schedule including scheduling followup appointments, tracking caseload to determine openings for new intakes and recurring appointments
  • Prioritize a minimum of 35 clinical hours per week
  • Maintain a safe, ethical and collaborative environment for staff and clients of Flourish
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Founder
