Our Lamar office in Dallas, Texas, is now hiring an Executive Director of Airport Development. The Executive Director of Airport Development will be a key driver in the growth and success of our Airport Advertising Concession business. This strategic role is responsible for securing new airport advertising concession contracts, leading the end-to-end contract procurement process, and managing the renewal of existing agreements. The Director will cultivate and strengthen relationships with airport partners, both new and existing, to enhance our market presence. Their efforts will directly influence the expansion, sustainability, and profitability of our airport division, positioning us as a leader in the airport advertising industry.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Education or Equivalent required
  • Current, valid driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance (badging eligibility)
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or another related field

A Day In The Life

  • Proactively acquire new airport advertising concession contracts by cultivating strong relationships with airport authorities, community stakeholders, and key decision-makers.
  • Respond to RFP proposals by following the company's best practices, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and tailored submissions that address specific client needs while effectively managing tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Lead and manage the entire contract procurement process, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment with company goals.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret contracts and other legal documents to ensure alignment with company objectives, and effectively negotiate terms to secure favorable outcomes.
  • Research and integrate individual airport and community goals into procurement strategies to enhance proposal effectiveness.
  • Provide operational oversight to Lamar’s team leaders post-award, ensuring efficient execution of contract terms, compliance with contractual obligations, and smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Manage contract revenue transitions by providing seamless transfer of revenue streams from new contracts, minimizing disruptions and maximizing financial performance.
  • Maintain fiscal discipline throughout the procurement process, balancing growth objectives with financial responsibility.
  • Strengthen and maintain existing relationships with current Lamar airport partners to support contract performance and renewal opportunities.
  • Drive the renewal of airport contracts through effective negotiation, strategic communication, and value-driven proposals.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with new airport partners, fostering trust, collaboration, and long-term partnerships.
  • Compile, track, and analyze data on targeted airport advertising concessions, including contract terms, competitive landscape, and expiration timelines.
  • Provide support for other government-related advertising contracts and contribute to special projects as assigned by management.
  • Represent Lamar at key industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our brand, expand our network, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Engage with aviation industry associations, actively participating in relevant committees, working groups, and research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with industry leaders to support and enhance Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required regular phone and face to face conversations with employees, vendors and visitors.
  • Involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting carrying, as well as outdoor projects and driving.
  • Less than 50% of nights spent away from home traveling.
