Application Development Manager

Job Summary:
The Application Development Manager will lead a team focused on enhancing the Credit Union s core banking platform (Symitar) and other enterprise applications. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering technology solutions that optimize operational efficiency, collaborating with business units and internal IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a distributed core development team, managing resources, planning, and allocation.
  • Oversee software design, development, and delivery with best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) and stakeholders.
  • Foster a supportive, diverse, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and information security protocols.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for integrated solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in application management.

Required Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience with financial institution technologies (e.g., Symitar, MeridianLink, Alkami, etc.).
  • Experience in software development methodologies, version control, and testing.
  • Proven leadership in coaching, mentoring, and motivating teams.
  • Familiarity with agile project management principles.
  • Ability to influence executive leadership.

Preferred:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with core banking applications (Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen).
  • Knowledge of IBM s AIX, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and ITIL framework.
