Long-Term Contract: $60-$80 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain web applications that support case management and service tracking. This role will involve working with a cross-functional team to build and enhance applications that integrate with various AWS technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, API integration, and security principles. This position offers remote work opportunities within the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Java, Spring-AspectJ, JSP Primefaces, and related frameworks.
• Build, enhance, and maintain RESTful web services and APIs for data integration.
• Integrate services with AWS technologies such as API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, and Logging.
• Implement OAuth2 authentication and logging mechanisms.
• Architect, configure, and optimize applications to support business operations.
• Anticipate the impact of new or modified software on existing systems.
• Adapt and enhance automated systems to meet agency-specific needs.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, recommending improvements for system efficiency.
• Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other developers.
• Participate in the full software development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Assist in troubleshooting and provide technical support to team members.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Java, JEE framework, and Spring Framework/Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in designing and building customer-facing web applications.
• Experience creating APIs using REST.
• Understanding of security principles, including access, roles, groups, and permissions.
• Familiarity with database fundamentals and SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AWS technologies such as API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, and Logging.
• Exposure to JPA/Hibernate.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript frameworks.
