JOB SUMMARY
The Database Administrator is responsible for administering, developing, testing and implementing

various SQL applications and projects. The firm is looking for an administrator who has at least 5 years

of Microsoft SQL database experience, who has a strong ETL background and is comfortable with

database scaling and performance tuning. The administrator will be required to build a strong working

knowledge of business applications and their interaction with SQL. Candidates will be expected to

develop new and optimize existing T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers and other core SQL components.

Ongoing requirements will involve developing reports in Power BI and designing/supporting Integration

Service packages to integrate existing firm systems.


This person will be expected to understand and manage MS SQL servers performance, security,

redundancy/high availability, backups/restores and integrations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • 30% of time: Support firm's SQL environment from an administrative perspective, e.g. backups, tuning, upgrades, best practice configurations/installation, high availability and security Streamline and automate data feeds between systems.
  • 20% of time: Develop SSIS packages to integrate with firm legacy systems, develop new functionality for existing applications.
  • 30% of time: Support reporting/Fabric/Power BI and AI applications; including design, modify, implement/deploy, secure firm as well as vendor provided reports.
  • 20% of time: Participate with development teams in the planning, design, development, and troubleshooting/testing of firm systems.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • SQL Administrative knowledge/familiarity and support of firm databases and related applications related to aforementioned maintenance, including:
    • Financial, Document Management, CRM, Experience, SharePoint and internally created custom reporting.
  • SQL administration related to high availability, business continuity considerations.
  • Setting up mirroring, clustering, and/or other form of MS SQL best practice data/system redundancy.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with SQL Server 2019 to current
  • 5+ Years MS SQL Server administration
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
  • Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.
  • Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
  • Experience working with Windows server and proper disk configurations.

  • Spanish language fluency is desired but not required.
