The Recipe Critic team is expanding! We are looking for a Social Media Assistant to stay up to date on trends through weekly research and work directly with our Director of Social Media to communicate these trends and discuss analytics and new ideas.

This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours weekly. Candidates must be local to the Salt Lake City metro area.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement data-driven social media strategies to increase engagement, followers, and website traffic
  • Manage and create content for all social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube, leveraging proven experience in business-focused social media management
  • Monitor social media accounts, actively engaging with and responding to comments and messages in a way that reflects The Recipe Critic’s voice
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure consistent brand identity across all channels, integrating insights from ongoing trend analysis and audience feedback
  • Regularly analyze social media metrics and trends to inform content plans, optimize posting schedules, and provide clear reports on performance, proposing new strategies to improve reach and engagement
  • Take initiative in growing platforms organically by experimenting with creative content, captions, and emerging social strategies
  • Utilize video editing skills to produce compelling visuals
  • Oversee or support affiliate marketing efforts
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a social media manager or similar role, with a track record of driving organic growth for a brand or business
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to foster meaningful engagement on social platforms
  • Solid understanding of major social media platforms and their respective audiences
  • Hands-on experience using social media management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to create content strategies informed by data, trends, and user feedback
  • Excellent analytical skills, capable of interpreting metrics and turning insights into actionable strategies
  • Video editing proficiency to enhance multimedia content
  • Experience with affiliate marketing or paid social media advertising is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred
