Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Operations to oversee and drive the commercialization of our supplement and beauty products. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Operations will be responsible for managing all aspects of our product business, including procurement, supply chain management, distribution and logistics. Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Operations to oversee and drive the commercialization of our supplement and beauty products. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Operations will be responsible for managing all aspects of our product business, including procurement, supply chain management, distribution and logistics. Responsibilities:
- Assess current co-manufacturer and vendor partnerships and optimize / consolidate where necessary
- Build strong relationships with and manage co-manufacturers, suppliers, third-party logistics providers (3PL) to internal specifications and standards
- Lead pricing and contract negotiations with co-manufacturers, suppliers and 3PLs
- Represent commercialization perspective and support in all new product development and reformulation projects, partnering closely with the Product and Marketing teams
- Manage end to end commercialization process for all products within the Sakara portfolio
- Manage packaging development & procurement
- Work with Regulatory team to ensure product compliance
- Work with Customer Service team to field product-specific customer questions
- Oversee product operations budget and P&L
- Help facilitate tech integrations across product operations, including 3PL systems and order and inventory management software
- Manage inbound shipping to ensure products are in the appropriate locations
- Optimize outbound shipping methods to balance client experience with cost
- Lead purchasing for all products based on forecast and cross functional plans.
- Ensure appropriate organization and documentation of SOPs and related processes
- Track and manage KPIs to ensure operational excellence
- 8+ years of experience in product operations, with a proven track record of success in consumer goods, beauty, or wellness industries
- Strong understanding of consumer goods, beauty or wellness supply chain and strong relationships with co-manufacturers
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with product development, marketing, and creative teams to bring products to market
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
