LMS Business Analyst

We are seeking an individual with strong Learning Management System (LMS) knowledge and business analysis (BA) skills, including testing, requirements traceability, training, and general system support skills.

We are partnering with other departments to implement Workday HCM for 70,000 State employees. This resource would primarily provide project business analysis support for implementation of a statewide learning platform. This involves data conversion from legacy LMS platforms to Workday. This resource may also be assigned to support other HCM modules including Talent, Compensation, Benefits, and/or Core HR functions.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

The role of the LMS Business Analyst will:

  • Document current and future state business processes.
  • Develop business functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop test plans and scripts, and test new or upgraded technology.
  • Provide technical support in the maintenance or enhancements of systems.
  • Create software user guides and other supporting documentation as required.
  • Provide user support and training on any new applications or new functionality.
  • Provide incident support and communicate software issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Serve as a liaison between assigned business units and the technical team to provide technical support in the maintenance or enhancements of systems.
  • Ensures functionality of automated system is consistent with adherence to laws, regulations, business rules and best practices.
  • Provide solutions for data mapping challenges that meet the business and technical needs.
  • Develop validation techniques to ensure success in data conversion.

  • Ability to present and document high quality, detailed deliverables.
  • Ability to focus on results to meet multiple deliverables and critical deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel, SQL, and/or data analysis tools.

Minimum Entry Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND one year of related experience; OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND two years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing or administering Learning Management Systems.
  • Direct experience in large scale data conversion.
  • Experience implementing or supporting Workday HCM.
  • Experience in supporting technology for public sector.
