Position Overview
The Project Management team is responsible for the development and oversight of a firm wide project administration and governance model; planning and managing complex projects, and for leading cross-functional teams to successful completion of company product and technology initiatives. Accordingly, the Project Manager is responsible for the following:
- Establish and deliver all aspects of management and oversight of the project scope, evaluate project objectives and build project plans.
- Motivate project teams and individuals to improve team performance in order to deliver successful projects consistently.
- Provide mentorship to an existing project manager on staff.
- Drive assigned tactical and strategic efforts based on business benefit and overall value by aligning closely with business and implementation owners.
- Provide and maintain accurate and timely project information in all project plans, communications, status reporting.
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible operations and project management experience in the financial services industry with particular expertise managing cross-functional technology projects that support investment operations.
- A thorough understanding of project management phases, methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting project deadlines/deliverables with successful outcomes. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn relevant operations workflows and internal control processes and their impact on project requirements.
- Be a natural leader and build relationships quickly.
- Be curious, innovative, creative, and always looking for ways to improve and optimize process.
- Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Four-year college degree.
- PMP certification preferred.
