Director of Procurement

O Positiv is a Los Angeles-based women’s wellness company built on the idea that small acts of self-care produce positive outcomes. Our first product was FLO Vitamins, the world’s first PMS gummy vitamin, designed to make periods and the symptoms that come with them more tolerable. Your Role
The Operations team plays a critical role in the success of O Positiv and is responsible for a range of activities including procurement, fulfillment, shipping, and planning for our omnichannel business. This role will be responsible for leading the procurement team which manages sourcing, purchasing, supply chain, contract manufacturing, and quality at O Positiv. This role will work collaboratively with all other functions at O Positiv and a broad range of external suppliers. The Director of Procurement role reports into O Positiv’s Senior Director of Operations.
The ideal candidate will be data-driven, analytical, creative, detail oriented, organized, an effective communicator, and highly collaborative.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead end-to-end procurement process with current and new suppliers including sourcing and purchasing
- Source, evaluate, qualify, and onboard suppliers for current and future product / packaging needs
- Manage and implement O Positiv’s supplier qualification processes and scorecard
- Manage end-to-end purchasing process for current and future product / packaging suppliers
- Oversee purchase order submission and tracking to ensure on time in full completion
- Manage weekly and ad-hoc meetings and follow ups with O Positiv’s suppliers
- Develop KPIs, data, and reporting around supplier performance and work to drive improvements
- Proactively identify any risk of delays / deviations and document / resolve any potential problems, including working with internal teams, negotiating with vendors, and escalating any issues internally to align on messaging
- Oversee coordination with suppliers on product quality, testing, release, and freight preparation
- Ensure all COAs, MSDS, and stability testing processes are managed accurately and effectively
- Role involves elements of procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, and contract manufacturing skills
- Run robust ad hoc analyses in a timely manner (e.g. cost savings analysis) and support project management of various key initiatives
- Manage, develop, and build out the Procurement team
- Work collaboratively with all external suppliers to build strong and accountable relationships. Once onboarded, own all day to day communications, escalating issues internally as needed
- Be highly proactive in monitoring and analyzing performance to identify and resolve potential issues early
- Be highly proactive in identifying opportunities to improve performance including cost, quality, and accuracy
- Work collaboratively with the Operations, Product, Finance, and Creative teams internally
- Manage in store marketing display process with retailers and brokers, ensuring all retailer requirements and timelines are met
- Manage international expansion as it relates to procurement (e.g. packaging requirements, ingredient research, manufacturing, etc.)
Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5-7 years in Supply Chain or Procurement roles
- Experience in CPG companies required
- Startup / omnichannel / supplements / OTC / personal care experience or passion is a plus
Interpersonal:
- Logical, structured, and analytical problem solver
- Exceptional excel skills and zero defect / error checking approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with different groups of individuals – a team player
- Ability to manage multiple moving pieces – hard working, organized, and results oriented individual
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
Hours and Compensation
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $160,000 - $185,000. Compensation and title will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and local market rates.

- Position will be based out of Santa Monica, Los Angeles – in person (Mon-Thu in office / Friday remote)
