GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for handling the receipt, verification and data entry of raw materials and products that come into the facility in a timely manner.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
- Verify and reconcile actual goods received with bill of lading/packing slips and purchase orders
- Maintain structured organization of all goods received as well as goods awaiting vendor credit
- Provide timely reporting and ensure the segregation, identification and disposition of non-conforming materials
- Daily entry of each receipt, production issue, transfer, etc. to mainframe
- Provide accurate inventories, receipt data and cycle count reports
- Maintain accurate filing and record retention
- Perform all necessary functions to provide an accurate accounting period close
- Obtain and track updates from carriers regarding inbound trucks
- Complete and maintain required reporting
- Any and all other duties assigned by your Supervisor
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- EXPERIENCE: Forklift experience may be required. Warehouse/Inventory control or customer service transportation experience preferred.
- SKILLS: Must have proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with the ability to react to varied situations. Must have strong interpersonal, and telephone skills. Excellent computer skills necessary (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Mainframe applications). Experience with AS400; JDE preferred. Receiving or accounting experience.
- ADDITIONAL: Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Required to work independently and with limited supervision. Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures.
Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia is present. Work surfaces and floors are wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Must be able to maneuver up to 50 lbs unassisted up to ¾ of the work-day, and 6 pound overhead as job demands. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required. Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts are in operation in the immediate area.
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work overtime as needed. Some weekends are required.
Required Experience
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
HS diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks. Must successfully complete required Work Keys
