As a self-starter with a proven track record in retail sales, you will lead the charge in building strategic partnerships, expanding market presence, and driving revenue growth. Responsibilities:
Own and grow retail sales, acquiring new customers and strengthening existing relationships to drive significant B2B revenue growth.
Develop and execute annual sales plans aligned with North Spore’s long-term strategy.
Build and improve sales infrastructure, creating efficient systems and processes to optimize customer success.
Expand sales into new markets while both protecting and complementing current e-commerce success.
Gain in-depth knowledge of mushrooms and North Spore products to better train the team and support B2B customers.
Act as a liaison between sales and operations to enhance product development and quality.
Collaborate with marketing on scalable campaigns to support retail sales.
Create and maintain SOPs for all sales processes.
Manage, hire, and train sales staff; set expectations, review performance, and conduct regular training.
Represent the company at trade shows and site visits to build customer relationships.
Sales Director Qualifications/ Skills:
7+ years of retail sales experience, preferably in CPG or lawn and garden sectors.
Proven success managing accounts with major retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Walmart and smaller, distributed retail networks.
Strong leadership experience with a track record of building and managing sales teams.
Expertise in sales strategy, forecasting, and budget management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of retail trends, including e-commerce and omnichannel strategies.
Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
Willingness to travel for client meetings, trade shows, and store visits.
Experience analyzing market trends and adapting to seasonal business needs.
Experience Requirements:
3+ Years of sales management experience overseeing a team of field territory representatives
5-7 Years of field territory sales experience
Location: On site at 921 Riverside St, Portland, Maine. Travel as required.
Pay rate: Base + competitive commission structure.
