Director of Interior Design - Hospitality Interior Design | Miami, FL

The Director of Interior Design is a visionary leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of interior design projects, from concept to completion. This role involves managing a creative team, collaborating with clients and stakeholders, ensuring design excellence, and maintaining alignment with company goals and client expectations. The Interior Design Director will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative design solutions while fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement interior design strategies that align with company objectives.
  • Establish and maintain design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Lead the design team in delivering cutting-edge, client-focused interior solutions.

Project Management

  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of interior design projects.
  • Review and approve design concepts, plans, and presentations.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, goals, and needs.
  • Present design concepts and updates to clients and stakeholders effectively.

Operational Oversight

  • Monitor resource allocation and team productivity.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g. Technical Services, Procurement, Supply Chain) to
  • ensure seamless project integration.
  • Manage project budgets and Department P/L.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interior design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in hospitality interior design, with at least 5 years in a hospitality interior design leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional design sensibility and a proven portfolio of innovative projects.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in design software and project management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials, furnishings, and finishes.
  • Ability to balance creativity with practical project requirements.
  • Visionary mindset with a passion for design excellence.
  • Collaborative and open to diverse perspectives.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to evolving trends and client needs.
  • Ability to travel when needed
