Location: Shelton, CT (Hybrid) | Offshore (Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Noida - Work from any location)

Overview:
We are looking for a talented Data Science & AI Developer to help advance our AI-powered shipping solutions. You will work on cutting-edge technologies to create intelligent shipping workflows such as LLM/NLP-based intent detection, rate shopping, label printing, and carrier management systems. This position will involve building and optimizing AI models, integrating APIs, and working with cloud-based infrastructure.

Your Role:
As a Data Science & AI Developer, you will:

  • Build and optimize Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Model (LLM) using libraries like spaCy to process user intents and extract key shipping data.
  • Integrate AI models into the shipping application to process user queries in real-time.
  • Develop and maintain microservices (e.g., FastAPI) to manage workflows such as rate shopping and carrier selection.
  • Interface with APIs for carrier and shipment management.
  • Use vector search techniques with Azure or similar services to store and efficiently retrieve shipping rate data.
  • Optimize database queries for better performance and accuracy.
  • Implement OpenAI services to generate intelligent responses, rate comparisons, shipping details, and troubleshooting.
  • Work on cloud-based infrastructure using Kubernetes Service (K8S) or serverless platforms.
  • Conduct unit testing and performance testing for reliable, scalable systems.
  • Monitor and fine-tune AI models and services for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure smooth integration of features into platforms like Microsoft Teams and Edge plugins.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Python and Golang, experience with FastAPI or other web frameworks.
  • Experience with LLM and NLP libraries (spaCy, Transformers, or NLTK preferred).
  • Knowledge of vector search algorithms (Azure Vector DB or FAISS).
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Familiar with Azure services (OpenAI, Event Grid, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based deployments.
  • Database knowledge (e.g., MongoDB, NoSQL, vector-based DBs).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and the ability to work in an agile environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of shipping APIs and logistics workflows.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with integration platforms like Microsoft Teams and Edge plugins.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Equivalent work experience in AI, backend development, or shipping-related projects is also acceptable.

Onsite Location (Shelton, CT):


For those based in the U.S., this position is hybrid, with up to 4 days in the Shelton, CT office per week.
