Organizational Change Manager

A company based in San Diego is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Organizational Change Manager (OCM) to support a critical SAP implementation within their Transmission Department. This role will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition for company employees and maximizing the adoption and utilization of the new SAP system. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of change management principles, excellent communication skills, and experience working within complex project environments, ideally within the utility industry.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute change management strategies: Collaborate with project leadership and stakeholders to develop comprehensive change management plans that address the people side of the SAP implementation. This includes stakeholder analysis, communication planning, training strategies, and resistance management plans.
• Stakeholder Management: Identify key stakeholders within the Transmission Department and across the organization impacted by the SAP implementation. Develop and execute targeted communication and engagement plans to ensure buy-in, address concerns, and foster a positive attitude towards the change.
• Communication Planning and Execution: Create and implement a robust communication plan to keep stakeholders informed about the project progress, system changes, and training opportunities. Utilize various communication channels, including email, intranet, presentations, and town hall meetings.
• Training Development and Delivery: Collaborate with training teams to develop and deliver effective training programs that equip employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to use the new SAP system. This may involve developing training materials, conducting training sessions, and providing post-implementation support.
• Impact Assessment: Conduct thorough impact assessments to understand the effects of the SAP implementation on various roles and processes within the Transmission Department. Use this information to tailor change management activities and address potential challenges.
• Resistance Management: Identify and address potential resistance to the change. Develop strategies to mitigate resistance and foster a culture of acceptance and adoption.
• Change Readiness Assessment: Monitor change readiness throughout the project lifecycle. Identify potential gaps and develop action plans to address them.
• Post-Implementation Support: Provide ongoing support to users after the system go-live. This may include developing user guides, FAQs, and providing troubleshooting assistance.
• Measure and Report: Track key metrics to measure the effectiveness of change management activities. Provide regular reports to project leadership on progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, IT teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of the change management plan. Industry Best Practices: Stay up-to-date on change management best practices and methodologies, and apply them to the project.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of OCM/PM experience
- Experience working with/for a utility company
- Prosci certification
- Familiarity with SAP

- Experience with OCM during an SAP implementation

- Hours: 6/7 AM-3/4 PM PST
Pay: $70hr - $90hr
