Position: Equipment Engineer

Location: West Nyack, NY

30 Month Contract

Description:
  • Onsite: 2x per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
  • Targeted Years of Experience: 5-7 years

Responsibilities:
  • Design, procure, and manage the construction of new cell sites.
  • Aid in the design, procurement, and management of cell expansions.
  • Determine equipment needs for new and existing cell sites based on engineering plans and project outlines.
  • Coordinate the ordering and integration process to provide complete equipment sets for projects.
  • Manage supplier relationships to meet targeted network milestones and turn-up dates.
  • Attend project update meetings to present status updates.
  • Follow appropriate methods and procedures for equipment tracking and inventory control.
  • Initiate Material Requests for shipment from the centralized warehouse.
  • Track equipment with a focus on expense reduction and just-in-time ordering.
  • Monitor all equipment expenditures.
  • Oversee equipment installation and acceptance.
  • Review drawings for accuracy.
  • Use Fuze to order equipment.

Must-Have Skills (Most Important):
  • List at least top 3 required skills (Quick-hit descriptions of functions expected of the worker, etc.) and years of experience or range for each outlined required skill.

Desired Skills:
  • Four or more years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge of DC power systems used in the telecommunications environment.
  • Knowledge of cellular network architecture.
  • Knowledge of Ericsson base station equipment, CATS/FULCRUM, MapInfo, FUZE, PURCH, and PeopleSoft.

Education/Certifications:
  • Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
