  • Manage and resolve transportation-related issues with 3PL vendors, carriers, and external partners.

Internal Fleet Management:

  • Manage the non-CDL fleet, ensuring optimal utilization, maintenance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Develop vehicle maintenance schedules, safety protocols, and driver training programs.
  • Track fleet performance metrics such as fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and vehicle downtime.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure logistics operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT and FMCSA standards.
  • Develop risk management strategies to mitigate disruptions such as weather delays or supply chain interruptions.
  • Maintain records related to fleet inspections, driver certifications, and 3PL contracts.

Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the transportation and logistics budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Optimize logistics costs through process improvements and better resource utilization.
  • Prepare financial reports highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and cost trends.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of logistics and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and provide training aligned with industry best practices.
  • Encourage collaboration across the team to ensure efficient operations and problem-solving.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives using data analysis and new technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
  • Utilize performance metrics and customer feedback to optimize processes and implement solutions.

Reporting and Performance Analysis:

  • Develop reports on logistics performance, including on-time deliveries, fleet utilization, and cost efficiency.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Present findings and actionable insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or managerial role.
  • Proven experience managing third-party logistics providers and internal logistics teams.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT and FMCSA.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with logistics and fleet management software (e.g., TMS, WMS, GPS tracking, ERP systems).
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation (e.g., APICS, CLTD, CTL).
  • Experience with emerging technologies in transportation (e.g., route optimization, fleet telematics).
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in logistics operations.
