Job Description

Thinking Minds Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer for one of its clients specializing in advanced RF and antenna systems. This role involves ensuring quality compliance in an electronics manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on AS9100 standards, supplier quality, and inspection processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review engineering drawings, procedures, and ECOs to ensure compliance
  • Conduct incoming material inspections, ensuring documentation traceability
  • Analyze First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102
  • Evaluate supplier AQL sampling inspection reports
  • Address Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and drive resolution
  • Investigate root causes of nonconformance and manage Internal Corrective Action Reports (ICARs)
  • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) and ensure timely closure of nonconformances
  • Perform In-Process Quality Assurance (IPQA) during manufacturing
  • Ensure final inspection of hardware before delivery
  • Prepare for source inspections and interact with customers
  • Maintain build documentation and generate Certificates of Conformance (CoCs)
  • Conduct internal audits, supplier assessments, and AS9100 compliance audits
  • Provide training on procedural and process changes
  • Archive and manage quality records and objective evidence

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Technical degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an AS9100 QMS environment
  • Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and microscopes
  • Strong understanding of ESD protocols and industry standards

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSEE or related Engineering degree
  • Experience in PCB, PCBA, Cable & Harness inspection
  • J-STD-001 certification
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and CMM inspections
