Part Time Nanny

Description We’re currently looking for a Part Time Nanny in Oakland, CA 94606 A lovely family near Lake Merritt seeks a part time nanny for their two children, ages 2 and 7 years old, for an immediate start. Part time care is needed Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-5:30pm through Friday, May 30th. The family is also looking for a candidate who has occasional availability on Saturdays, 1-2 times per month, from 4pm-10pm for date nights. The 2-year-old will be turning 3 at the end of March and enjoys dancing, drawing, music, and is starting to show their personality. The 7-year-old is extremely intelligent, empathetic, and enjoys playing with Legos, comic books, and video games. The family is looking for a nanny who can become a part of the family, maintain the children’s schedules, and is able to keep up with their energy, interests, and school work. Start date: Immediate End date: Friday, May 30, 2025, possibility to extend for backup care Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-5:30pm 1-2 Saturdays per month, 4pm-10pm for date nights Compensation: $35-$38 per hour + gas reimbursement when driving the children Responsibilities: Bathroom assistance for 2 year old (child is potty trained) Driving children; school pickups for 3 year old (furthest distance ~4 miles) Homework help for 7 year old Meal prep/light cooking for children (chicken nuggets, fruits, pasta, etc.) School pickups for 7 year old (walkable) Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of paid professional childcare experience with preschool aged children (2-4 years old) Minimum of 1 year of paid professional childcare with school aged children (5 years and up) CPR certified or willing to become certified Legally authorized to work in the U.S. High School diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license, clean driving record + valid driver’s insurance Must have a reliable vehicle to transport children (car seats will be provided) Must be able to provide at least two professional childcare references, or references that collectively cover at least two years of professional childcare experience, whichever is greater Must be able to successfully clear a background and social media check Compensation + Benefits: This position pays $35-$38 per hour, and the family is looking for a minimum of 15 hours of care per week.
