Job Description:
- Provides programming support for all web applications used in college systems to include problem resolution, software modification, new software development, and general technical assistance to the user community.
- Works with users to identify and resolve problems and determine better solutions and/or business processes with a primary focus on supporting the main web applications and intranet of the College.
- Works with users in managing and prioritizing the web applications project list.
- Expected to work in a multi-cultural diverse working environment.

- Research and resolve application problems.
- Analyzes and refines College applications requirements.
- Designs, programs, tests, and documents solutions to college requirements.
- Works with the users to test solutions.
- Rigorously applies internal procedures and policies to ensure quality work.
- Logs and resolve software work orders.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural diverse working environment.
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code using software development best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft .NET, Visual Studio, and Visual Studio Code or IntelliJ.
- Windows operating systems, IIS, and PowerShell.
- Database development, Access, and SQL Server preferred.
- Accessing external data sources (Databases, Web Services, Program APIs).
- Server-side Java technology such as Servlets, Java Server Pages, or Grails.
- Common web design patterns, particularly MVC and MVVM.
- React and GraphQL.
- AJAX, HTML, CSS, CSS3, JavaScript, XML, jQuery.
- C#, VB, ASP.NET, PHP.
- Web APIs, RESTful APIs, and architecture.
- JAVA support tools such as Node.js, Task Runner, Knockout, JSON, NuGet.
- Insomnia, Postman, Fiddler or similar.
- Agile software development practices, such as XP, Lean Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban or similar.
- Data Transfer Objects.
- Version control systems, GitHub preferred.
- Mobile apps.
- Azure, Azure SQL, Azure AD, MOSS.
- Colleague Self-Service and Colleague Web API preferred.
- Ellucian Experience preferred.
- SharePoint workflows, object models, and web parts preferred.
- SharePoint Designer, SharePoint apps, Office 365 and MS Power Automate preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in application software programming in a web environment. Experience in higher education applications preferred. Experience with multi-cultural students and staff is also preferred.
