Location: Plano, Texas, United States

Description

The Network Support Engineer will need to manage day-to-day onsite/on-call network operations including troubleshooting/inquiry responses related to the network, maintaining/configuring network devices, and basic network optimizations. The Network Support Engineer must have experience managing enterprise networks, implementations, migration, and operation management, which may involve the following technologies: LAN, WAN, Wireless, Network Security, Audio Visual, Voice systems, etc.

The successful candidate must demonstrate fluent MS Office skills with tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge or expertise in Visio is nice to have. They also must be able to gather network operation data to help the manager create status reports.

The position also requires capabilities and passions to lead network improvement/development activities working with team to provide stable/effective network environment.

  • Capable of managing/configuring general enterprise network devices for stable network operations.
  • Capable of creating network change work procedures considering the stable network operations.
  • Responsible for resolving the network issues/troubles minimizing the risks or impacts for the customer s business continuation.
  • Works closely with the users and technology workstreams to identify network requirements.
  • Develop network maintenance plans to maintain the safe and stable networks and refine the network configurations, etc.
  • Create network management/operation documents for efficient network management.
  • Perform network maintenance/trouble responses working with related parties such as customers/users/vendors. *Off-business hour work may be expected depending on customer s needs.
  • Proactively assist developing network monitoring improvement.
  • Manage issues, risks, change controls, and status reporting in network operations.
  • Manage/inspect the telecom room and its equipment to meet the customer s criterion.
  • Assist the manager in providing network-related technical insights and advice to customer stakeholders for the project s planning & execution.
  • Assist network-related projects as required by the managers or customers.
  • Recognize any potential opportunities, risks, or complications at the customer side. Inform to the manager to make action plans for client-US to expand its business opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on work within large-scale enterprise networking environments.
  • Fundamentals of Networking and demonstrated experience supporting large-scale enterprise network environments.
  • Good level understanding of TCP/IP routing and switching, along with network design best practices.
  • Good level understanding of dynamic routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, etc.), Network Security (Firewall, NAC, etc.), Switching topologies on both Wired/Wireless networks (WLC, LAP, etc), and Cloud/Virtual networking.
  • Experience writing technical specifications is recommended.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Having strong passion to improve technical/non-technical knowledge/skills in order to fulfill customers expectations.
  • Ability to deal with and resolve ambiguity.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills
