Job Title: Device and Network Administrator
Location: Sacramento, CA - with ability to travel between Exton, PA and Sacramento, CA
Job Summary
The Device and Network Administrator is responsible for providing on-site support for device and network-related issues. This role includes managing the lifecycle of IT devices, supporting mobile device management, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring smooth IT operations within the office. The position requires hands-on experience with laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Device Management (Laptops, Printers, Scanners, Network Devices) 8x5 Support
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and support for laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT devices.
- Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, and replacements as needed.
- Manage device provisioning, including setup, deployment, and decommissioning.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets, ensuring up-to-date tracking and documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and warranty claims.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) 8x5 Support
- Administer and support mobile devices using Intune.
- Enforce security policies on company mobile devices.
- Provide troubleshooting support for Intune-enrolled devices.
- Ensure device compliance with organizational security policies.
- Assist users with device enrolment, configuration, and connectivity issues.
- Office Network Support
- Provide first-level support for office network issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of network devices (routers, switches, access points).
- Monitor network performance and escalate issues to the network team when necessary.
- Support employees with connectivity issues, IP conflicts, and network authentication problems.
- Ensure proper network security measures, including firewall rule adherence and access control policies.
- Device Lifecycle Management
- Maintain inventory and asset management records for IT hardware.
- Oversee the procurement, deployment, and retirement of IT devices.
- Conduct periodic device audits to ensure optimal usage and compliance.
- Develop and implement hardware refresh strategies to keep technology up to date.
- On-Site IT Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related issues within the office.
- Respond to support tickets related to device, network, and mobile issues.
- Collaborate with remote IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Assist in IT onboarding and training for new employees.
- Document common troubleshooting steps and create knowledge base articles for end users.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT support, device management, and network administration.
- Hands-on experience managing laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune and mobile device management (MDM).
- Basic networking skills, including LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems (iOS, Android).
- Familiarity with Active Directory (AD) user and device management.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in an IT environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as:
- CompTIA A+ (IT Support & Device Management)
- CompTIA Network+ (Networking Basics)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
- Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk, etc.).
- Knowledge of cloud-based device management solutions.
