Job Description:
- The Chemist will be part of a small team involved in the project. The scientist will perform assessment of DNA damage using liquid chromatography (LC), and electrophoresis (CE).
- The responsibilities include sample preparation, data analysis, method development, and method validation.
- Individual will independently and handle duties including ordering the requisite supplies for their work, assisting in the maintenance of the laboratory and equipment being used, establish, and maintain reports on their research findings, and produce presentations for participation in team meetings.
- A critical component of this job is to maintain close communication with team members in a harmonious and productive manner. In short, the Consulting Chemist will be a results-oriented contributor who can help us cement the future of client.
Responsibilities:
- Perform LC and CE based method development for project.
- Work independently.
- Collaborate with team members - directors and scientists.
- Maintain laboratory and equipment.
- Keep detailed daily records of research activities.
- Summarize and prepare worksheets, PowerPoint presentation, and report the work being performed to the supervisor and team.
Required:
- MS or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Recent experience in nucleic acid analyses by LC and CE
- Significant experience in commercial or laboratory environments
- Product and Project development training
- Excellent communication skills and work ethic
Skills and Experience:
- Chromatography and separation technology applications
- Organization and time-management skills to meet the company's timeline
- Background in either DNA/RNA vaccines, DNA damage, DNA repair, DNA nicks, endonucleases or topoisomerases desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills a real team player
- > 5 years' experience in the specified area
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed
