We are seeking candidates for a 3-4 month assignment in Washington, DC (onsite 4 days, remote on Fridays). This position is W2 hourly with Roth Staffing, with all work taking place for our client.


The Manager for Editorial Newsletters is responsible for curating content, driving engagement, and supporting subscriptions through daily editorial newsletters. This key position ensures that content decisions are data-informed and tailored to the audience. The role involves overseeing newsletter planning, execution, and optimizing content for digital platforms.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Newsletter Planning & Execution:

    • Select and plan story topics based on the target audience and business priorities.

    • Produce one or more daily editorial newsletters, including writing compelling headlines, curating images, links, and creating interactive elements like quizzes.

    • Collaborate with the marketing team to improve engagement and retention strategies.



  • Performance Tracking & Reporting:

    • Track and analyze the success of newsletters against established KPIs, communicating results and editorial plans to internal teams.



  • Collaboration Across Teams:

    • Work with the National Geographic Society, National Geographic Channel, and other teams within The Walt Disney Company to elevate company priorities in daily newsletter sends.




Qualifications:



  • Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

    • 5-7 years of experience in editorial writing and digital content production.

    • Proficiency in digital writing, copy editing, and knowledge of AP Style or equivalent.

    • Experience in a fast-paced editorial environment, preferably for email platforms.

    • Strong promotional language skills and the ability to work quickly with sound news judgment.

    • Experience working in digital content management and familiarity with editorial best practices.



  • Preferred:

    • Basic knowledge of HTML and Adobe products.

    • Experience in digital publishing or newsletter-specific production.
