Consulting Network/Systems Engineer - Washington, DC - W2 Only

What Youll Do
This position plays a leadership role in critical delivery engagements, ensuring operational excellence in service delivery execution and to assure customer objectives and business, transformational, and operational outcomes are achieved. Influencing internal and external stakeholders through innovating and compelling points of view and thought leadership on technology drivers for their business and has a high degree of credibility with both their business and IT executives. As a technical leader and trusted advisor, you will assess the customer requirements, develop and manage the service delivery methods of the engineering team and execute improvements through the eyes of the customer and internal stakeholders.

This opportunity involves helping to craft the customers vision for their network and maintain a secure, state of the art environment that is second to none in terms of network up time and reliability. The qualified engineer in this account will be able to have an impact with our SLED customers and help them transform to meet their mission. As part of this team, you will work directly with our SLED customers and gain hands-on experience and exposure into their networks. You will collaborate on a variety of projects that have a real impact to our customers' mission critical public service goals. We will value your ideas and perspective on how to get things done. You will work on network infrastructures and help to deliver business solutions and technology solutions to achieve business values for our customers.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Typically requires BS in Computer Science or equivalent plus 8 - 10 years relevant experience in Enterprise Networking.
A deep understanding of key technologies and protocols in Enterprise Networking, and data center environment.
In-depth knowledge of designing and optimizing complex network solutions.
Is a technical expert in more than one area. Applies expected product behavior across industry standards. Reads technical documentation, functional specs, RFCs. Knows how the technology is expected to work in the industry.
Expertise with Cisco software features and functionality.
Strong operational and consultancy experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skill.
Ability to function in ambiguous circumstances.
Demonstrate expertise on relevant technology and delivery methods.
Certification like CCIE R/S or Data Center is preferred.

Be the trusted advisor on assigned customers/accounts by being onsite as needed.

Interacts effectively with Engineering to solve complex problems, identifies serviceability issues, and drives resolution of the issues with Engineering and other organizations.
Provides technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex customer problems in support of critical issues.
Acts as a focal point for problem resolution/escalation for assigned customer engagements. Assures proper and quick resolution of major customer problems across an appropriate range of technologies.
Continuously learning and strengthening technical skills for relevant technical domain and adjacent technologies.
Is a technical expert in a broad area covering multiple technologies. Applies expected product behavior across industry practices. Knows how the technology is expected to work in the industry.
Independently applies knowledge and experience in creating solutions for customer outcomes.
Solves extremely complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of factors with imaginative and innovative troubleshooting and experimentation as well as evaluation of intangible variables.
Initiates reviews of ideas and technical objectives within and across Services. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed by management and through consultation from a relatively long-time perspective for results.
Works independently, with guidance in complex situations. Able to lead some projects or programs within a function and may act as a team leader to coordinate activities of other personnel.

Require knowledge of platforms includes Nexus 7k, 9k, 2k and Cat9K platforms. Must be proficient in OSPF, BGP, MPLS and switching. Additional experience in security is a plus.
