Position: Cellsite Ethernet Backhaul Transport Engineer
Locations: Wallingford, CT or Medway, MA
Working Model: Hybrid (2 days per week in office)
30 Month Contract
Responsibilities:
- Configure and document Ethernet backhaul routers and switches for wireless fronthaul and backhaul.
- Focus on Nokia routers.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Experience as a Transport or WAN network engineer.
- Advanced knowledge of routing and switching hardware/software, especially Alcatel/Nokia products (IXR-E, 7705, 7750-A8, 7750-SR7, 7750 SR12).
- Understanding of 5G Virtualized RAN deployments.
- Strong IP knowledge, including subnetting, routing protocols, and MPLS.
- Hands-on experience with CLI interface.
- Experience using Granite/XNG, CND, or other circuit/path inventory systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Nokia Certifications (NRS, SRA, MRP).
- CISCO Certifications (CCNA, CCIP, CCIE).
- Experience with DWDM optical systems (Ciena 6500, Fujitsu 9500).
- Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience with wireless voice and data services (CDMA & LTE).
- Experience with transport test equipment (JDSU & EXPO spectrum analyzers, path analyzers).
- Knowledge of Nokia router translation tools (e.g., Service Portal).
- Advanced experience with Granite.
