Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking Senior Manufacturing Engineers (Assembly and Installation) to work onsite in San Antonio, TX.

Summary:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), focusing on product development, complex producibility studies, and production/tooling philosophies. You will refine, validate, coordinate, and implement conceptual designs, managing the program architecture for build. Your role includes developing manufacturing plans, overseeing plan optimization, and conducting complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure manufacturing process capability meets requirements. You will resolve complex technical problems and serve as a project manager to ensure contract requirements, specifications, design criteria, and schedule performance are integrated and maintained. Additionally, you will support advanced design solutions and research new product or business opportunities, deploy Lean Enterprise analysis methods, document and communicate producibility best practices, and provide guidance through structured mentoring.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement design and build plan changes, minimizing disruption while capturing maximum benefits through collaborative behavior and processes championed by Manufacturing Engineering and inclusive of all stakeholders.
  • Integrate changes to affected commodities and execute Build Integration milestones.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Support the execution of the Build Integration process by providing visibility of active engineering design changes and associated risks to milestones, ensuring design changes advance through the review process.
  • Facilitate collaboration and integration across affected commodities.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing plans.
  • Create installation planning and support installation planning shipside in San Antonio.
  • Support team performance by participating in process/tool improvement projects.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in STEM (ABET accredited) and 10+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting the development of engineering technical data packages needed to produce aircraft parts and components.
  • 5+ years of experience utilizing professional/technical writing skills and teaming successfully to solve technical issues.
  • Experience with CATIA.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with IVT.
  • Experience with GoldEsp.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience within aerospace.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
