As the Global Brand Director, you will have an opportunity to work on a fast growing blockbuster brand on track to become a top 10 brand at AstraZeneca.

Within the Respiratory Global Portfolio and Product Strategy (GPPS) team and reporting to the Global Commercial Head, you will have a unique opportunity to lead the development of promotional brand strategy and materials to grow the brand as a market leader. Your pivotal role will ensure efforts that drive both short-term success and maximize long-term brand value.

What You'll Do:


  • Develop and refine the brand's promotional strategy to increase global impact, bringing innovative approaches and opportunities to achieve a bold, transformative ambition.
  • Craft and implement persuasive promotional materials and campaigns in alignment with our overarching brand strategy, with an emphasis on innovative thinking.
  • Analyze business performance and formulate strategic insights to leverage business drivers, optimizing brand performance and identifying transformative pathways.
  • Represent the brand strategy to senior leaders, ensuring cohesive execution across markets, while fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Engage with competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and threats, positioning the brand to thrive against competitors, and pursue ambitious goals.
  • Collaborate intensively with multiple functional teams, including medical affairs, commercial market development, and advocacy, to align the brand narrative with emerging evidence.
  • Play a crucial role in the preparation and execution of launch activities for the product’s expansion with a new indication.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, marketing, or the sciences.
  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biotech industries.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing brand strategies founded on insights and value propositions.
  • Robust understanding of commercial strategy, including pricing, reimbursement, and market research techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial competence with a clear understanding of P&L and business drivers.
  • Experience engaging with external customers, such as key opinion leaders and payers.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the respiratory therapeutic area.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills to drive strategy adoption.
  • Ability to work effectively with agency partners to transform strategic plans into action.
  • Experience in innovative thinking to bring bold ideas to life.
  • Capability to work in ambiguity, simplifying complexity while managing multiple priorities.


This position is based at our Gaithersburg, MD campus, headquarters for the Global BioPharmaceuticals, US Oncology and the Oncology Business Unit. The annual base pay for this position ranges from $229,303.20 - 343,954.80 USD. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee
