Job Description:
1. Work with IT DR team to evaluate current DR environment and establish a
framework for a robust DR/BCM, enhancing organizational resilience, minimizing
downtime, and ensuring business continuity in the event of a disruption.
2. Work with IT DR team to outline the scope of the consultant s responsibilities in
developing and improving the DR/BCM framework and processes. This may
involve conducting a current state assessment, developing DR/BCM policies and
procedures, and improving and solidifying BCM tool (CL Digital) functionality.
3. Work with IT DR team to define the governance and organizational structure for
improving DR/BCM activities within the organization. This could include
establishing a DR/BCM steering committee, defining roles and responsibilities,
and identifying key stakeholders.
4. Work with IT DR team to address how CL Digital captures the assessment of
potential risks and vulnerabilities, as well as the impact analysis on critical
business functions. This may involve conducting additional thorough risk
assessment, identifying critical assets and processes, and ensuring consistent
review and updates of recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point
objectives (RPOs) for all the systems/applications managed by CL Digital.
5. Work with IT DR team to specify the development of comprehensive DR/BCM
plans and procedures. This could include creating incident response plans,
business continuity plans, disaster recovery plans, crisis communication plans,
and other relevant documents.
6. Work with IT DR team to design realistic and scenario-based test cases that
simulate various disaster scenarios, ensuring they cover a range of potential
disruptions. Work with LADWP teams to execute the DR exercise, including
necessary resources, participants, and infrastructure requirements.

8. Work with IT DR team to monitor and evaluate the performance of the DR
systems, processes, and personnel during (or after) the exercise. Capture and
document observations, issues, and lessons learned from the exercise to drive
continuous improvement in the DR strategy and plans.
9. Work with LADWP team to prepare and deliver comprehensive post-exercise
reports, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for enhancing
the organization s overall DR readiness.
10. Address the development and delivery of training programs to educate
employees on DR/BCM practices, roles, and responsibilities. This could include
conducting awareness sessions, training exercises, or workshops to ensure that
employees are prepared to execute the DR/BCM plans.
11. Recommend the fine-tuning of the implemented BCM tool to optimize its
functionality and effectiveness. This could involve configuring workflows,
customizing templates and forms, defining access controls, and ensuring
seamless integration with other systems.
12. Define the documentation and reporting requirements for DR/BCM activities. This
may include generating reports on risk assessments, recovery strategies,
incident response activities, and testing results to provide visibility into the
organization s DR/BCM readiness.
13. Conduct extensive knowledge transfer and documentation of all tasks performed,
training of DR/BCM staff team members in all disaster recovery and business
continuity principles and developing repeatable processes that can be carried out
by DR/BCM staff.
