ABOUT THE POSITION
The Coordinator of Community Engagement will be a key driver in strengthening the Seattle Storm connection with the local community and advancing the team’s mission of social impact. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing a range of community-focused initiatives and programs that align with Storm values, community impact goals, and corporate partner objectives.
Under supervision of the Sr. Director, Community & Social Impact, the position will coordinate the team’s community programming including organizing community and youth events, managing logistics, coordinating player appearances, and support partnerships with corporate and non-profit organizations to achieve our collective community goals. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, creative, and resourceful individual who excels at building and nurturing relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, including community leaders, corporate partners, non-profits and fans. The ability to work evenings, weekends, some gamedays, and occasional holidays is a requirement.
Community Engagement
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Sports Management, Social Sciences, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with an Associate’s degree and relevant work experience will also be considered.

Community Engagement
- Serve as day-to-day liaison to maintain and cultivate relationships with nonprofit organizations and key community partners.
- Work directly with both the Storm Corporate Partnerships (CP) and Community & Social Impact (CSI) team to execute community programs
- Plan and manage logistics for community events, including both youth basketball and non-basketball events, coordinating with corporate and community partners and ensuring smooth execution.
- Collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders to schedule community events
- Prepare all event materials including registrations, giveaways, run of show, etc. and act as on-site event manager for majority of events
- Coordinate transportation, catering, and other outside vendors for select events
- Prepare, track, and maintain reports and analyses for all community programming and initiatives, ensuring accurate documentation of activities
- Compile and producing program statistics and reports
- Compile annual community partner recaps and support creation of corporate partner recaps
- Manage strategic complimentary ticket outreach programs, such as summer reading and school incentives, balancing administrative tasks with customer service responsibilities
- Manage ticket program operations, working with Ticket Operations, community partners, and providing customer service support to fans as needed
- Work select Storm home games to support community events and initiatives including Kicks for Equality, Toy Drive, Believe in Women and others as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to schedule and manage community player, coach, and mascot appearances, autograph signings, and related activities
- Optimize and manage all auction and donation requests and fulfillment, ensuring effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate year-round fulfillment of in-kind community requests including shipping, auction items, tickets etc. and manage the inventory required for such requests
- Participate in community events, representing the team and engaging fans through tabling, giveaways, and interactive activities.
- Under supervision of Sr. Director of CSI, oversee the community pages on the team website, coordinating necessary updates and providing photos and copy to the marketing team.

Related Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in community program execution, project management, and event coordination
- Demonstrated success in planning and executing events for 50 to 100 people, with a focus on logistics, budget management, and ensuring smooth execution
- Hands-on experience in working with non-profit organizations, especially those that support youth programs
- Ability to stay mission guided when problem solving and making program decisions
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, balancing competing priorities and resources
- Ability to strategize, plan, and execute programs with willingness to take a hands-on approach when necessary to ensure successful outcomes
- Passion for and baseline familiarity with the women’s sports landscape
- Familiarity with issues and barriers impacting marginalized communities the Storm serve
- Work experience within the sports and entertainment industry is preferred
