Recharge Recruitment are partnering with a growing solar developer in New York to hire a FP&A Director to manage financial operations, focusing on short-term cash flow, forecasting, and strategic planning. This role oversees financial processes, expense management, and third-party vendors. This is a unique opportunity that will suit an individual who has a strong accounting background.

The organization are growing rapidly and need a hungry individual who enjoys a fast paced and growing company where they can be hands on and work closely with the leadership team. This role reports directly to the CEO and will have daily interactions with the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee three-month cash flows and long-term financial planning.
  • Provide financial insights for capital decisions, growth planning, and debt raising.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and manage third-party accounting firms.
  • Develop scalable FP&A tools and standardize reporting.
  • Track project-specific financials, including development debt and success fees.
  • Manage expenses for a portfolio of solar projects.
  • Implement budget tracking and flag risks to leadership.
  • Lead FP&A development and drive cost efficiency.
  • Ensure timely investor reporting and compliance tracking.
  • Establish financial processes and collaborate on capital raises.

The right person for the role will have over 8 years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or accounting, preferably within renewable energy. They should have a proven track record in leadership, particularly in building and managing FP&A functions. Proficiency in Excel modeling and financial forecasting is essential, along with a deep understanding of solar tax planning, revenue recognition, and project finance.

Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple financial processes in a high-growth environment are crucial. Knowledge of capital markets, debt structuring, and investment committee management, as well as familiarity with solar project finance, interconnection deposits, and tax incentives, will be an advantage.
