Our company is looking for a Research Scientist to join DeVine in a full time capacity. This position will be supporting a government customer, hence only US Citizens may be considered.
DeVine contributes to projects in remote sensing, modeling, and scientific analysis of the Earth’s atmosphere and ocean and land surfaces, as well as astronomy and astrometry. We help our clients test and operate space-based, air-based, subsurface, and land and ocean surface-based sensors. We also collaborate to projects that develop new remote sensing capabilities and new ways of analyzing data.

Required Experience:
- M.S. Degree or higher in Physical Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in calibration, validation and operation of spaceborne passive microwave (PMW) sensors, particularly for Space-Based Environmental Monitoring
- Experience developing and validating algorithms to estimate geophysical quantities from PMW measurements, quantities of particular interest include Ocean Surface Vector Winds, Sea Ice Concentration and Age, Soil Moisture
- Experience with some combination of FORTRAN, C, C++, MATLAB, Python, and IDL programming languages
- Experience with the handling and processing of large data sets
- Antenna beam corrections and with the use of fully-polarimetric PMW data
- Modeling of ocean surface and radiative transfer of atmosphere at microwave frequencies
- Radio frequency interference (RFI) detection tests for PMW measurements over ocean and land
- Current Secret clearance or higher preferred
- Position Type: Full-time, Must be U.S. Citizen

- Compensation: $120K to $140K per year salary range
