Team Management
As the VP of Technical Services, you will be expected to lead the Technical Services team, inclusive of our Wastewater Process, Compliance, HQ Operations, and Contract Operations Teams. Duties are anticipated to include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Represent the Tech Services Team on the Leadership Team as we drive towards our Annual, 3-Year, and Long-Term Goals
- Promote a culture that reflects company’s values, encourages outstanding performance and promotes positive work environment, within and across other functions.
- Plan, Direct, Implement, and Monitor budgets and the cost of business in each assigned division to achieve financial objectives for individual projects and the Company and make recommendations for future changes based on lessons learned
- Drive accountability for team KPI performance and make recommendations for modified KPIs, where needed
- Regularly review policies and SOPs to ensure team operations are current and relevant, and develop procedural adjustments, as needed
- Regularly engage in 1:1 meetings with members of the Tech Services Team to discuss tactical day-to-day activities, strategic progress, and individual growth & development plans
- Review monthly labor forecasts and upcoming project work to identify and communicate issues related to labor resourcing to leadership
- Promote attainment of Operator Certification and completion of associated continuing education within the Department. Actively participate in departmental Level10 Meetings
- Lead performance discussions (reviews, PIPs, etc)
- Review and approve time sheets, vacation requests, schedule alterations, etc. for staff
- Act as technical and managerial resource for the Tech Services Team to guide and support the development of a cohesive and collaborative team of experts
- Identify and champion the implementation of processes and procedures that streamline communication between Operations, Compliance, and Process functions
- Develop and maintain a process for staff to review design calculations, engineering reports, technical memos, and operation & maintenance manuals for industrial wastewater treatment systems
- Promote attainment of Operator Certification licenses within the Department
- Develop and strengthen relationships with existing clients to identify new business opportunities
- Actively participate in business development activities and direct sales effort
- Work with technical resources and marketing team to develop and communicate Probst’s growth strategy related to Sustainability, Fertilizer, Biochar, carbon credits, etc.
- Technically review proposals and budgets in the sales phase for both Tech Services and Engineering opportunities
- Represent Probst at various trade shows around the country, including presentations
About you:
- Willing to work out of the Hartland, WI office
- Completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher in related technical field or progressive, relevant experience

- Display strong, concise written & verbal communication
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive business strategies
- Strong organization, planning, & prioritization skills to manage several priorities simultaneously
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally throughout the internal divisions and with clients
- Industrial wastewater background with the ability to be the technical expert for comprehensive solutions
- 6+ years of progressive leadership or personnel development experience
- Leadership experience in an engineering or construction firm
- Understanding of financial statements and budgeting processes
