Description

We are looking for an Estimator/Senior Estimator; The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Global Estimating Team and Project Controls Group in the construction of new Hyperscale Data Center projects.

Key Responsibilities

General Requirements:

  • Understand the project phase and availability of project definition at the time of the estimate.
  • Reconcile differences between estimates and update in a "Cost Walk."
  • Use work breakdown structure basis (OneWBS).
  • Include total project cost in estimates, covering all relevant costs.
  • Meet with various teams to review and agree on the estimate plan.
  • Ensure estimates represent 100% of the cost or price for the defined scope.

Project Capital Estimates With Localization:

  • Utilize the relevant Global Plan of Record (gPOR) design.
  • Reflect current market prices and specific Google work control processes.
  • Include a clear basis of estimate, assumptions, and exclusions.
  • Use parametric or modeling estimating approaches.
  • Use the latest design available and refer to the gPOR design.
  • Develop localized baseline based on design completeness.
  • Compile estimates using a bottoms-up approach.
  • Include all relevant cost elements and track changes to the provided baseline

Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Agreement Support:

  • Update the Current Working Estimate (CWE) template.
  • Train and work through the Total Maximum Budget (TMB) with the General Contractor.
  • Lead the review and analysis of the GC’s commercial submission.
  • Support executive reviews and GC negotiations.
  • Document and report variations or changes from the localized estimate.

Subcontract Buyout - Letter Of Notification (LON) Support:

  • Review Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Bids.
  • Lead the commercial review of the competitive bid process for major trades.

Change Management:

  • Support change order evaluations over $1M as needed by the Project Controls Group.

Benchmarking:

  • Establish and maintain the benchmarking database for all Professional Services and Construction costs.
  • Analyze benchmarking data and provide SME support.

Preferred Qualifications/ Relevant Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years minimum cost management or estimating experience
  • Experience in site estimating and project cost management.
  • Familiarity with work breakdown structure (OneWBS).
  • Ability to reconcile estimates and explain changes.
  • Proficiency in developing Order of Magnitude and Budgetary/Definitive Estimates.
  • Experience with GMP agreements and subcontract buyout processes.
  • Strong analytical skills for change management and benchmarking.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
