Essential Job Functions
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain software applications, operating systems, and hardware components.
- Manage and support local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and VPN connectivity.
- Administer servers, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and cloud-based services.
- Perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot outages, and respond to IT incidents promptly.
- Implement and maintain data backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Configure and maintain security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolve IT-related issues, and document solutions in a ticketing system.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to manage IT assets and services.
- Maintain an inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and system documentation.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work independently or in a team setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support end-users and collaborate with different departments.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Minimum A+ Certification required.
- Network+ and/or Security+ certifications are highly preferred.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or IT Support Specialist.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and cloud computing platforms.
- Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and routing protocols.
- Knowledge of system security principles, including threat detection, access control, and encryption.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Experience with database management (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Background in cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders, both in person and through digital communication platforms.
- Typing and using computer equipment.
- Lifting and carrying up to 35 LBS.
- Ability to move around within the office setting or travel to attend meetings, conferences, or other business-related events.
