Summary:

The IT Systems Administrator supports and maintains our organization's IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, security, and maintenance of hardware, software, and networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications, operating systems, and hardware components.
  • Manage and support local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and VPN connectivity.
  • Administer servers, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and cloud-based services.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot outages, and respond to IT incidents promptly.
  • Implement and maintain data backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Configure and maintain security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolve IT-related issues, and document solutions in a ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to manage IT assets and services.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and system documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, industry standards, and best practices.

Requirements

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum A+ Certification required.
  • Network+ and/or Security+ certifications are highly preferred.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or IT Support Specialist.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and routing protocols.
  • Knowledge of system security principles, including threat detection, access control, and encryption.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
  • Experience with database management (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Background in cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders, both in person and through digital communication platforms.
  • Typing and using computer equipment.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 35 LBS.
  • Ability to move around within the office setting or travel to attend meetings, conferences, or other business-related events.
