Position Overview:
The Project Manager (PM) will oversee two projects for the Mississippi Secretary of State s Office (MSOS):

  • Project 47843: Business Services & Filing (primary focus)
  • Project 47844: Campaign Finance & Lobbying (secondary support)

The PM will serve as the liaison between MSOS teams and third-party vendors, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and timely execution. The PM s main focus will be on the Business Services & Filings project, which has the largest scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Act as the central contact for MSOS and vendors.
  • Track project progress and resolve issues impacting timelines.
  • Coordinate project meetings, status updates, and documentation.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years in project management, preferably in government/technology.
  • Experience managing software development and vendor relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, JIRA.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Operating Systems: Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016.
  • Programming Languages/Development Tools: .NET, Visual Basic.
  • Database Systems/Tools: MS SQL.
  • Frameworks/Methodologies: Agile/Scrum, Waterfall PM Methodology.
  • QA Testing: Experience with DEV/UAT Approaches, QA Testing methodologies.
  • Project Management Experience: Familiarity with PM methodologies, managing software development projects, and stakeholder communication.

Preferred:

  • PMP, CAPM, or similar certification.
  • Experience with state agencies, business registration, or campaign finance.
  • Knowledge of MS Secretary of State systems is a plus.
