Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our innovative R&D team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in embedded software development and experience in regulated industries. You’ll lead the design and implementation of high-quality software, collaborate across teams, and contribute to the advancement of our next generation medical devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain reliable embedded software in a Linux-based environment for ivWatch medical devices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and product management to deliver customer- and market-driven requirements.
  • Conduct code and design reviews with the software team to ensure quality.
  • Prepare software documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Identify and resolve software defects during all development phases, including post-commercialization.
  • Drive the software risk analysis process and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline required.
  • 3-5 years of software engineering experience, including C, Python, Django, and Qt.
  • Demonstrated experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), and test-driven development.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design and development.
  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational databases.
  • Experience with software documentation in structured environments.
  • Experience in electrical engineering and familiarity with oscilloscopes is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

This position is located in our Newport New, VA campus.
