Computational Biologist
We are seeking a Computational Biologist with a strong foundation in bench biology and computational techniques to join one of our clients. This role involves working closely with bench biologists to translate unstructured biological data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have experience designing experiments, analyzing high-throughput biological datasets, and implementing robust software development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with bench biologists to design and analyze experiments.
- Develop and publish computational tools and software packages to solve complex biological problems.
- Utilize machine learning techniques, including cross-validation, classifiers, and graph networks for protein interaction analysis.
- Analyze RNA-seq data, CRISPR screens, and Cut & Run assays to derive meaningful biological insights.
- Apply metabolomics and other high-throughput data analysis techniques based on project priorities.
- Ensure best practices in software development, including reproducibility, version control, and automation.
- Work independently and proactively, with minimal management oversight.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong background in both bench biology and computational biology.
- Bachelor's or above in a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and R for biological data analysis.
- Experience with AWS preferred.
- Solid understanding of machine learning, particularly cross-validation and training validation sets.
- Maintain a well-documented GitHub portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Experience with graph network analysis and protein interaction fusion.
- Ability to work on diverse problems across different biological datasets.
- Strong intellectual adaptability and creativity.
