A prestigious company is looking for a Technology Operations Support 2nd Shift. This person will drive improvements on production support, control, release management of platform services including storage, cloud, Linux/Unix, networking, etc. This person will need experience with UC4.
Responsibilities
- Employ first-level Incident identification and resolution techniques to address interruptions across Mainframe, Linux/UNIX, Windows, Storage and Network platforms.
- Monitor multiple applications and systems using company approved software.
- Monitor and respond to applications/systems alerts across all platforms in accordance with Quality Standards and/or Security Policies.
- Report and document any processing anomalies utilizing company approved software. (Service Now / Remedy)
- Maintain processing records and logs
- Escalate Production Incidents to Second-Level support as required per policy to ensure a timely resolution.
- Assist with mainframe IPL s, and other system commands if and when required.
- Support transmissions across SFTP/NDM.
- Support MQ channels
- Support the execution and troubleshooting of scheduling jobs.
- Provide first-level support for Production Installs, D/R and Industry tests.
- Maintain all off-site storage records and shipments.
- Rerun/Restart failed backups and perform restores when required.
- Work scheduled overtime when needed to ensure 24 x 7 coverage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related discipline
- 3+ years of OS390 JCL and IBM utilities
- 3+ years working in a multi-platform environment including Windows, Linux/Unix and Storage. Strong network knowledge heavily favored.
- 3+ years working knowledge of an open systems scheduling product (UC4).
- Basic knowledge of ITIL principles
- Working knowledge of Scheduling applications / tools (UC4 / Control M)
- Basic understanding of Network, Unix/Linux, Windows, Storage, IBM JCL,
- Understands technical monitoring and metrics
- Mature understanding of the relationship between software and hardware
- Basic Knowledge of Application life cycle and deployment
- Knowledge of MQ (stop / start / recycle)
- Problem/Incident management applications and tools experience
