RPG Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ that is seeking a RPG Developer.

Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated RPG Developer to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our legacy application. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RPG/LE, CLLE Programming, and iSeries/SQL, with a focus on "keeping the lights on" and providing robust production support.

Responsibilities
* Provide ongoing support and maintenance for legacy applications
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure minimal downtime and disruption
* Collaborate with IT personnel at all levels to address and resolve technical problems
* Develop and maintain stored procedures and service programs
* Utilize SQL for complex data retrieval and manipulation
* Ensure effective teamwork and communication within the IT department

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience with RPG/LE, CLLE Programming, iSeries/SQL
* 5+ years of experience with ILE Advanced concepts (Procedures, Service programs, Functions, Free RPG coding syntax)
* 3+ years of experience with complex SQL concepts and programming
* Experience with SQL, Service Programs, Stored Procedures, RDi, RDP, newer RPG Free
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide timely solutions
* Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
* In-depth understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
* Ability to prioritize and manage tasks and projects with minimal supervision
* Proven leadership abilities in development teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Detail-oriented approach while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency in current application development standards
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree in IT or related field of study
* Experience working with XML documents, XSD, XPDL2.2, translations, XSLT
* Familiarity with PDM, SDA, DBU, Query/400
* Experience with Aldon Change Management or equivalent AS/400 Change Management software
* Proficiency with IBM RDI Tools (Rational Developer for System i)
* Knowledge of HTML, Javascript, Java for the iSeries
* Experience with data retrieval and integration across multiple platforms
* Experience with Stored Procedure development

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
