Job Description :

Interview Process: Virtual Interview via MS Teams video with any 2nd round interviews to be held onsite. Please use laptop and be prepared so share screen if asked. Use of headphones is strongly discouraged. A screenshot photo of candidate will be required for any Teams interviews as well as a vendor present at beginning of interview to validate the candidate.

Duration: 1 year


Remote or On-site: Candidates MUST be local at time of submission. Hiring manager is not currently interested in candidates who will need to relocate to accept offer. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Overview

The State of Michigan (SOM) Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) Center for Shared Solutions (CSS) eMichigan team is seeking to hire up to 3 additional full-time systems analysts for 1 year to conduct reviews for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications, which include standards for branding and digital accessibility.

Job Duties

Conduct reviews of SOM websites and applications for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications

o Test for digital accessibility using manual and automated tools including screen reader and other assistive technology

o Review for adherence with additional standards including branding

o Perform testing on desktop and mobile devices

o Thoroughly document review results

Provide results to application support teams and stakeholders and meet with teams to explain results

Work closely with eMichigan team members to ensure processes are followed and optimized

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education

A certificate or degree in any field required, Information Technology (IT) preferred

Experience will be considered in lieu of a certificate or degree

Experience

1 year of testing applications for digital accessibility (preferred 3+ years)

1 year working with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Advanced knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA

Advanced knowledge of digital accessibility testing methodologies

Advanced skills using assistive technologies, including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, and other assistive technologies

Advanced skills using accessibility evaluation tools and frameworks, including WAVE, Developer Tools, Accessibility Inspector, and other accessibility evaluation tools

Ability to use a variety of desktop and mobile devices and operating systems (OS), such as laptops, smartphones, tablets, Windows, MacBook, iOS, and Android

Ability to prepare detailed written documentation, maintain records, and conduct correspondence related to the work

Ability to communicate technical terminology at a level appropriate to the audience

Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA

Multilingual desired

Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

This position may require in-office work for the first 1-2 months for onboarding.
