Job Description:
This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and efficiency of the client global SAP systems. This role, heavily focused in the SAP Basis Administration, involves coordinating with technical and functional teams to achieve organizational goals, overseeing the administration, management, and support of the SAP landscape, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP APO, SAP BW/BO, SAP Fiori, and supporting bolt-on applications. The role involves providing technical expertise in installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning, while ensuring high availability and optimal performance of the SAP landscape. Additionally, the individual will lead the Basis Admin AMS Team and ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs. The Global SAP landscape has expanded significantly and continues to grow keeping in line with business strategy. Keeping the landscape current is crucial for supporting rapid innovation and new functionality. This role ensures adherence to SAP s best practices, including Focused Build and Focused Run, daily support and operations of the SAP landscape, including bolt on applications, and compliance with SAP licensing.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and support SAP landscapes (S4, HANA, BW, APO, GRC, Fiori, etc.).
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize system performance (CPU, memory, storage), and perform regular health checks.
- Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute system upgrades, enhancement packs, kernel patches, and system migrations.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor SAP systems to identify potential issues, manage incidents, and provide solutions to technical challenges.
- Apply SAP Best Practices under Focused Run and Focused Build and deliver the functionality of CALM and Solution Manager.
- Transport Management: Manage the SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and ensure proper movement of configuration changes across landscapes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date system documentation, including technical architecture diagrams, procedures, and best practices.
- System Migrations: Lead and execute SAP migrations (e.g., from on-premise to cloud, OS/DB migrations, HANA migrations).
- Integration and Collaboration: Collaborate with functional teams and developers for system integrations, troubleshooting, and overall SAP landscape management.
- System Architecture: Assist in designing and configuring high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for SAP environments.
- Customer and Vendor Interaction: Coordinate with SAP support, hardware vendors, and other third-party providers for resolving issues, managing escalations, and ensuring license compliance.
- Lead AMS Basis team: Oversee 3rd party resources, monitor issue resolution, participate in high priority issues and ensure quality deliverables.
- Security and compliance: Partner with SAP-Security team to ensure compliance with organizational security standards and SAP best practices
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Certifications: SAP Basis or SAP HANA Certification (essential), SAP NetWeaver certification is a plus
- Cloud Certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) for cloud-hosted SAP environments
- 8 12 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, including installation, configuration, and upgrades of SAP systems (e.g., S/4HANA, ECC, BI/BW, APO, GRC etc.)
- Proficiency in SAP HANA database administration and migrations
- Proven experience leading SAP implementation, upgrade, and migration projects
- Familiarity with project methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall
- Proficiency in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and managing high-availability environments
- Deep understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows server environments
- Experience with integration of SAP systems with non-SAP applications and tools
- Experience working with Global teams and managing 3 rd party resources
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders, vendors, and team members
- Skilled in conflict resolution and decision-making under pressure
- Analytical mindset to address complex system issues and develop proactive solutions
- Strong customer service orientation
