Job Description:
Dogwood Management Partners, LLC is seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer to join our team. This role involves installation, upgrades, maintenance, and support of Mainframe z/OS third-party software while ensuring system security compliance and optimal performance. The selected candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, maintaining system documentation, supporting Disaster Recovery efforts, and working closely with the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain z/OS and third-party software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to z/OS, third-party software, and utility software.
- Apply Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs) and cumulative software updates.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).
- Manage system security, performance, System Automation, and Workload Manager for z/OS.
- Utilize ServiceNow (SNOW) for task management, change requests, and peer reviews.
- Manage mainframe storage, backup processing, and IPL procedures across multiple z/OS LPARs.
- Monitor system software access, performance, and resource utilization.
- Evaluate and implement new z/OS third-party products.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience with z/OS and third-party product installation, configuration, and upgrade planning.
- 5+ years of experience supporting a stabilized IBM mainframe system.
- Expertise in SMP/E, JES2, RACF, ACF2, Top Secret, SMF/RMF, Sysplex, TCP/IP, DF/SMS, and catalog management.
- Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe IPL processes for z15 & z16 hardware.
- Proficiency with file formats (PS, PO, PDS, PDS/E, z/FS, and VSAM/E).
- Strong skills in system audits, security monitoring, and problem resolution.
- Familiarity with reporting tools for z/OS security and performance.
- Experience working with software from vendors such as Broadcom, CA, Chicago-Soft, Levi Ray & Shoup, Merrill Consultants, Phoenix Software International, Rocket Software, and SAS Institute.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consulting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in client-facing environments.
- Prior experience supporting Federal Government clients.
