- Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities**
- Keep all work areas and tools safe and ready for use.
- Help management create and maintain a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment.
- Quickly respond to requests for help from managers, supervisors, and operators.
- Take apart broken machines and equipment, and install new or repaired parts. Clean and lubricate machinery parts as needed. Listen for unusual sounds to find problems and discuss machine vibrations with supervisors or other maintenance staff to diagnose issues.
- Install and troubleshoot electrical equipment like transformers, wiring, and parts of machinery, including programmable logic controls (PLCs).
- Install and maintain piping systems and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair and replace gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
- Use cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Operate and repair forklifts and electric or manual pallet jacks.
- Ensure the building's heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems work properly.
- Be available to work odd hours or be on call to address emergency repairs when needed.
- Qualifications and Experience**
- An Associate's degree or equal work experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- At least four (4) years of experience as a generalist in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
40 hour schedule - but must be flexible and open to work overtime and be on call when needed.
