- Ensuring accuracy and compliance with national and state coding laws and regulations.
- Preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies and healthcare payers for reimbursement.
- Resolving billing discrepancies by following up with insurance providers or patients as needed.
- Maintaining updated patient billing records and coding information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Updating administrative documents and patient files to reflect proper billing and coding practices.
- Acting as a liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to address billing inquiries.
- Providing clear explanations of billing procedures and insurance claims to patients.
- Conducting routine audits of medical billing and coding practices to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Staying updated on changes in policies and regulations related to medical billing and coding.
- Participating in ongoing training and education to maintain coding certification and enhance skills.

Education:
- GED or equivalent education is required.
- Additional certifications in medical billing and coding (e.g., AAPC, AHIMA) are preferred.
